Allianz Global Investors
has named Anand Gupta as lead portfolio manager. Based in Singapore, Gupta will report to Raymond Chan, chief investment officer for equity, Asia-Pacific.

Before this role, Gupta led Eastspring Investments’ India Growth Equity team for more than 10 years. He has more than two decades’ experience, concentrating on Indian markets. Previously, Gupta worked at SBI Mutual Fund, Batlivala & Karani Securities India Pvt and HSBC Securities.

This is a newly-formed role at AllianzGI’s Indian equity franchise. Gupta will be the lead manager responsible for India equity mandates, India thematic strategies and related portfolios. He will also drive the formulation of investment strategies for the Indian market, AllianzGI said.
